Maybe he is going to do this next week, but why isn't the President out every day in some swing state standing by a bridge and putting pressure on the House to pass a long term highway bill. The Senate Bill passed with 70+ votes and is paid for. This isn't a case where the House gets to blame a filibuster and the Senate for inaction. Sets up perfectly for the President. I bet the calculus and the request from Senate Dems is that if the President is so vocally for it that the House will be reflexively against it no matter what, but the President being so vocal on so clear an issue will move the needle and force the House to act I bet (like the Payroll tax cut). They sure as hell aren't going to do anything without the public pressure. Makes no sense to me.
