Hunt The motivation statement is perhaps the single key element. It is your shopfront. Will take a loo in the morning. The SF-85 is a dog. Its tough when they ask - "do you know any foreign nationals"..well yes, my family.. Speak with you tomorrow G Gregory P. Keeley Principal Ariana Inc. 202 603 0950 T gpk@arianainc.net E www.arianainc.net W @arianainc Tw From: Hunter Biden <hbiden@rosemontseneca.com> Date: Monday, June 11, 2012 5:08 PM To: gregory keeley <GPK@arianainc.net> Subject: Statement G- Sorry to impose again but read below and give me your feedback. This is my "Motivation Statement" for standard application. I've made minor edits where needed- just want to make sure content makes sense. I've completed most forms- still working of SF 86-- everywhere I've been out of country in last 7 years is a long list. There are two reasons in particular that motivate me to join the United States Naval Reserves as a Public Affairs Officer. The first is my own brother¹s service in the Army National Guard and his deployment to Iraq in 2008-9. My pride in his service and the men and women that I became acquainted with due to his service motivated me to find my own path to serve within the U.S. Military. The second motivation is my belief that there is no greater act of contribution to the security our country than service in the military, particularly at a time of war. I believe that I have the ability to contribute as a Public Affairs Officer in The Navy Reserve due to my professional experience and my educational background. I have established a successful law practice and an investment advisory firm as well as having worked in communications for both the federal government and a large multinational bank. Furthermore, I currently serve on several boards that promote the interests of U.S. national security and serve as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University¹s School of Foreign Service in the International Security Department. I believe my career in the private sector has prepared me well for the demands of a Public Affairs Officer in the Navy. I also believe my educational background prepares me well for the duties and demands of a Navy Reserve Public Affairs Officer, as I understand them. I have employed the communication and writing skills that I developed as a student at Yale Law School, and as an undergraduate at Georgetown University in every aspect of my professional life for the past twenty years. From writing legal documents and developing communication strategies on behalf of clients, to conceiving and deploying large scale nationwide educational initiatives while working for Secretary William Daley at The U.S. Department of Commerce, my career has depended on my ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of audiences. Finally, I believe that I can contribute and because of that I have a duty to do so. I believe I meet all the physical requirements expected of an Officer in the Navy Reserve and I hope that I could represent the Navy with the highest level of integrity and honor expected of an Officer in the Navy Reserves Program R.
