party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner. Mr. Biden, a member of the
Delaware National Guard, also is heading up the group. Veterans for Obama.

* -- Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden called North Carolina a
"critical" state in the presidential election and defined the "stark
contrast from the top of the ticket down." "President Obama has a very
clearly articulated path with the creation of 4.2 million jobs, 27 months
of consecutive job growth," Biden told reporters for his keynote speech at
the N.C. Democratic Party convention Saturday. "If you compare this to Mitt
Romney, the only answer I have as to his economic (plan) is a return to
George W. Bush." Obama's policies, economists say, are not entirely
responsible for the job growth and Republicans rap the president for being
out of touch with the economy after he suggest the "private sector is doing
fine" compared to public sector job growth.

keynote speaker for the event was Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, the
son of Vice President Joe Biden. He praised the group for helping to make
North Carolina a battleground state for President Obama. "It's because of
the people in this room. It's because of what you did. It's because of the
ground game that you brought to this state unlike anything that's seen at
least in my lifetime," said Biden.
