Congress should be working together to do what’s best for the American people, but they’re not. Not even close.

The GOP is trying to chalk up a win for their party at any cost. The reconciled GOP tax bill isn’t any better for working families than either version we’ve already seen, but that’s not stopping them. They are full speed ahead trying to schedule a vote in the next day or two, even though this bill gives corporations a massive permanent tax cut and sends a majority of its benefits to the richest 5% of Americans.

The tax plan will raise our country’s deficit by $1.5 trillion dollars and could result in cuts to programs our senior citizens rely on -- and all this just to give the wealthy and big corporations a tax break.
