In a 2 a.m. vote, despite bipartisan opposition, 51 Republican senators passed a plan to raise taxes and increase costs for almost every one of my constituents.


Middle-class families need bipartisan, common-sense tax reform that simplifies the tax code, helps create jobs, and puts money in their pockets. This plan isn’t it.


Multiple analyses have shown that this bill is riddled with oversights and errors, and full of loopholes that giant corporations and billionaires can exploit for years to come.


How will the GOP pay for their loopholes and giveaways? By raising taxes on the middle class, spiking healthcare premiums, and passing on ONE TRILLION dollars in debt to our children and grandchildren.

This bill could reshape our entire economy, and yet it was written completely in secret -- up to the very last minute. You might have seen videos of senators struggling to read the changes scribbled in the margins of the bill they received just hours before the vote.


Democrats aren’t the only ones sounding the alarm. The AARP came out against the bill, and even President Bush’s former advisors are telling the GOP to pump the brakes.

So, why are they moving so fast? Because they know that the more Americans learn about the GOP’s plan, the less they’ll like it. Their bill would eliminate provisions that make college more affordable and protect middle-class families from going into debt while taking care of their loved ones or a child with a disability.

What’s more, by repealing the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) individual mandate, the GOP would kick thirteen million Americans off their insurance -- and spike premiums by 10%!

When some Republicans tried to repeal the ACA, Americans rose up and spoke out -- and TrumpCare didn’t pass. We NEED to rise up and speak out again.
