R.Hunter: In 2017, science should not be a partisan issue - and that includes climate change.

The sad fact of the matter, though, is that under the Trump administration, protecting our planet has become an increasingly partisan issue. Even as our nation's sea levels rise and our temperatures soar, this administration continues to reject scientific consensus and repeatedly takes measures that harm our environment, our economy, our health and our national security.

When President Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, he ceded our country's position as a leader in the fight against climate change. With every anti-environment decision he makes - from slashing the EPA's funding in his proposed budget to disbanding committees dedicated to curbing climate change - he further endangers the lives and livelihoods of every American.
