It was so nice seeing so many of you at the back to school night on Thursday. We have a couple of fun traditions coming up that we hope you can participate in.

Potluck Hosts Needed

In the Sidwell tradition we are reaching out to request volunteer families to host our annual autumn potlucks. These gathering are for parents only, and provide us all with an opportunity to get to know other parents while enjoying a meal that is not overly burdensome to the host. As many of you have experienced, the groups can range from small (8-10) to large (a couple of dozen), and are always fun!

The goal is to have the potlucks in October-November before Thanksgiving break. They are generally held on weekend evenings or Saturday/Sunday brunch. After we have a sufficient number of hosts, we will ask all parents to choose a day to attend one of the potlucks. We will then send the potluck hosts a list of their guests and email addresses and ask them to email the parents with the time, address, and info about what to bring.

As a host, you may choose how you would like to organize your potluck. You can provide the main dish and ask your guests to provide the rest or you can provide the drinks and ask your guests to provide the meal or whatever you would like to do. It is up to you. Please bear in mind that these evenings are meant to be a casual and simple way to get together, and not too much work for anyone, and especially the hosts!

If you are interested in hosting one of these potlucks, please respond to Lisa Horowitz lisahorowitz@comcast.net by Friday, Sept 22, with the date(s) that would work for you, whether it's brunch or dinner, and the number of guests that you are willing to host. Please keep in mind that there will be no potlucks on October 13th, 14th, or 15th due to Homecoming weekend activities.

Potential Potluck Dates:

Friday, October 20; Saturday, October 21; Sunday, October 22

Friday, October 27; Saturday, October 28; Sunday, October 29

Friday, November 3; Saturday, November 4; Sunday, November 5

Saturday, November 11; Sunday, November 12

Friday, November 17; Saturday, November 18; Sunday, November 19

Thank you Friends for your consideration.

Next to New Sale Collection Dates and Volunteering

Join us for our popular Next-to-New Sale!
