Barely a week back in Washington, and Rod Blum is already trying to rip off working families in this district -- and he’s doing it by piggybacking on infamous bigot and stain on our “Iowa Nice” reputation, Steve King.

Last week, Steve King attempted to sneak an 11th hour amendment into a spending bill that would have blocked the Davis-Bacon Act, an 86 year old law which requires that workers contracted by the federal government are paid the same amount as they would otherwise be paid locally in the private sector, the “prevailing wage.”

And guess who was right there to vote for his Freedom Caucus cohort’s last minute effort to pay working men and women less than they deserve for a hard day’s work? You guessed it, Rod Blum.

The extremism and greed from Blum and King is beyond frustrating, but not surprising. King’s been doing it for years, and Blum seems to have found a mentor in how to fail at representing Iowa values.
