Earlier today, President Trump made a cruel decision to end the DACA protections for nearly 800,000 innocent young immigrants.

The DREAMERS, who were brought to the US through no fault of their own as children by their parents, have already come forward to the government in an act of trust, sharing personal information and passing rigorous background checks. A recent Center for American Progress report estimates that detaining and deporting the DREAMERS could deprive the U.S. economy of up to $460 billion in economic growth over the next decade.

In Massachusetts, there are nearly 8,000 young people – hard-working DREAMERS – who have already passed through the stringent DACA requirements. Every day, they strengthen our communities and our economy. And if we lose them, Massachusetts alone would lose more than $600 million in GDP growth each year.
