I am reaching out to you to let you know that we would like to start the year by having you on our academic feedback system to make sure that junior year goes as smoothly as possible. While on academic feedback, you will receive regular weekly feedback from teachers including information about upcoming assignments as well as specific suggestions and twice-monthly feedback interims that will be shared with your parents. You will also have a regular standing meeting with Ms. Scattergood, our academic mentor (cc'd to this email). In addition to sharing teacher feedback with you, Ms. Scattergood will also offer you support for your history and english classes and help you with study skills. Ms. Scattergood will reach out to you to schedule this regular meeting time. </span></p>

<p style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12px; font-family: -webkit-standard, serif;">I also wanted to let you know the new process in upper school for accessing accommodations. As you know, you are eligible for 50% extended time on tests, exams and quizzes longer than 15 minutes. This means that you will have 68 minutes to complete a 45-minute assessment. Since you will need to take half of your assessment outside of your regular 45-minute class time, you will need to work with each teacher to develop a plan for taking your tests. You are also allowed to use a computer for your in-class essays and tests. Next week, please email each of your teachers and ask to meet with them to create a plan for taking tests this year. Some students use part of their lunch period, a free period or stay after school for 25 minutes to finish up a test. I also want to let you know that you must email your teachers at least 24 hours before each test to remind them of your extended time accommodation. </span></p>
