Dear Seniors,


· College Counselors Schedule next week - Please note that Patrick Gallagher, Emily Thigpen and Adam Ortiz will be attending the Annual National Admissions Conference from Wednesday – Saturday next week. If you need anything -please see Jackie Morillas in the Upper School.


· Senior Pre Excused Forms - If a senior plans on using one of three pre excused days, please pick up form (green form) in the CCO. The signed and completed form must be handed in to Ms. Matthews well in advance of the excused date.


* One on One Student College Counselor appointment – If you have not done so….. Remember you need to contact Jacki Morillas (morillasj@sidwell.edu<mailto:morillasj@sidwell.edu>) regarding a one on one appointment with your college counselor. When you email Jackie – please include your free periods as that will assist her immensely in setting up the appointment. Remember, the CCO’s new location is on the lower level of Zartman. Students have access to the back door from 8 am – 4 pm.


· College Log In Book – All seniors must fill in the first page of their College Log in Sheet (this not your College List page). This first page asks students for the email listed in the Common App, the names of student teacher recommenders and signature for approval to submit student’s transcript throughout the year. Please come to the College Counseling Office by Tuesday, October 2, 2018 to complete this page. Please Note: Students will have access to the log in books next Wednesday – Friday (when college counselors are attending conference) by visiting Ms. Ashley Moore, SFS Registrar, in the South Commons.


* UK Schools - If you were unable to attend today’s UCAS Application meeting, it is extremely important that you email your college counselor ASAP to receive the appropriate paper work given UCAS deadlines.


· College Counseling SFS Deadlines –


o October 1: Students must write in the log book any schools with an October 15 deadline.

o October 5: This is the last day that students can submit essays for an October 15 application deadline that we can guarantee will be reviewed.


o October 22: Students must write in the log book any schools with a November 1 deadline.

o October 26: This is the last day that students can submit essays for a November 1 application deadline that we can guarantee will be reviewed.


o November 1: Students must write in the log book any schools with a November 15 deadline.

o November 5: This is the last day that students can submit essays for a November 15 application deadline that we can guarantee will be reviewed.


o December 3: Students must write in the log book any remaining schools for regular decision.

o December 19: This is the last day that students can submit essays for a January 1/15 deadline that we can guarantee will be reviewed


· Financial Aid Information-


o Financial Aid Presentation for Sidwell Parents/Students will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 pm in the Hearst Building at National Cathedral School (NCS). Free babysitting as well as free parking will be available. Please park in the National Cathedral garage for the event.


o SFS College Counseling Office is once again offering Individual Financial Aid Consultation on Saturday, October 13 from 10am - 12 noon in the CCO.
