- *National Children's Alliance Champion for Children Award*
*Beau Biden *(posthumously conferred to the Beau Biden Foundation)
*for his unwavering commitment to protecting children, his close work
with the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Delaware, and his Foundation's
successful effort to ensure that more than 30,000 Delaware residents are
trained in child abuse prevention education. *

- *Volunteer Leadership Award*
*Katherine Melhorn, M.D.*
*for her outstanding work with the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick
County (Kan.) since before its creation in 2006; for her service on the
CACSC Board of Directors; and for her commitment to Wichita's children
as the first and only pediatrician in the community for 20 years to
specialize in child abuse, and the first Board Certified Child Abuse
Pediatrician in Kansas. *

- *Community Philanthropy Leadership Award*
*Ruth Wilkenson, *Nucor Steel Jackson
*for her stewardship of Nucor Steel’s tremendous generosity to the
Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi over the past 4 years; and for
her leadership in helping to create the Nucor Training Facilities, housing
the Mississippi Chapter’s new, fully equipped mock forensic interview
rooms.*

- *National Philanthropy Leadership Award*
*The Duke Endowment*
*for its sustained commitment to financially support the Children’s
Advocacy Center movement; and for its positive, nationwide impact on the
children CACs serve.*

- *Horowitz-Barker Lifetime Achievement Award*
*Jan Dunn, *National Children's Alliance
*for her decades of committed service within the CAC movement,
including: service as an LAPD officer focusing on child (and adult) sexual
abuse cases; service as a front-line investigator with the DA’s office in
Placer County, Calif.; conducting interviews for the Los Angeles DA’s
office while housed at the local CAC; serving the state of California as
its chapter director of ten years; serving as the NCA Board President; and
serving in several key roles both on NCA's board and staff.*

- *Outstanding Chapter Leader Award*
*Brenda George*, Children's Alliance of Montana
*for her essential leadership in developing the Montana Chapter’s
resources and stakeholder relationships as well as identifying and
successfully bridging any gaps in services; and for fostering the growth of
accredited Montana CACs from just one in 2007 to ten accredited centers in
2018, including Big Sky Country's first tribal CAC. *

- *Bud Cramer Advocacy Award*
*Senator Lauren Book, *Florida Senate and Lauren’s Kids
*for her resilience as a survivor of child abuse that spurred her on to
create her own charity, Lauren’s Kids, which educates community members
about child abuse as she fights for stronger penalties for sex offenders;
and for her advocacy within the Florida Senate for all Sunshine State
children.*

- *Innovative Program/Practice Award*
*Maurice McClanahan, *#SantaCause Social Media Giving Campaign
*For his impacts directly related to Safe Shores – The DC Children's
Advocacy Center, by launching and conducting a six-year fundraising
campaign expressly for Safe Shores which motivated people of all income
strata to give; and for dramatically elevating the community conversation
about child sexual abuse within the African-American community in the
DC-Maryland-Virginia area.*
