The Senate Judiciary Committee plans to interview Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh about the third woman accusing him of sexual misconduct, according to correspondence obtained by POLITICO. The chief counsel to the panel's Republican majority told lawyer Michael Avenatti on Wednesday afternoon that the committee plans to hold a follow-up interview with Kavanaugh later Wednesday. Avenatti's client, Julie Swetnick, alleged in an affidavit that she witnessed Kavanaugh's involvement in multiple episodes of misconduct. It's not clear if that interview has already occurred. Kavanaugh denied the claims to the committee when Avenatti made them anonymously earlier in the week, according to emails sent between the committee and Avenatti. Read more here.
