I am sorry you haven't heard from me until now but I accepted a job with a new firm in August which is exciting but the change has been kept me busy.

Patrick Callahan and I are excited to continue our Gabbro Group dinners. We plan to connect in the days ahead to organize the date and topic for the fifth Gabbro Group dinner. Gabbro Group Purpose:
The purpose of the Gabbro Group is to create what we hope will be a repeatable and evolving environment of sharing in the spirit of life-long learning. We are all incredibly busy but I believe pausing to think with respected people who bring their unique knowledge and experience to the table is incredibly valuable. We all read and consume information but I've observed real growth only comes when I consider diverse perspectives in the context of each new idea.

Gabbro Group gatherings should be an informal and ultimately fun forum for discussing an interesting and relevant topic. We may ask experts to join us but we will also try to set the stage with something consumable in an evening such as an article, blog, documentary or very short book.

What is Gabbro?: Igneous Granite

Why Gabbro?: Like access to power in the industrial revolution the flow of information is changing the world as we know it. Technology, innovation and personal growth will always serve as the bedrock fueling the next big thing....and the next interesting dinner conversation.

Just as it crosses the state line into Delaware and, as if nature had intended a boundary line to be placed there, The Brandywine Creek strikes a range of igneous granite called gabbro. It has dug a channel through this hard rock, and in less than four miles it descends 120 feet, in a mad rush to the Delaware River and on out to the sea. No industrial planner could have designed a better terrain for eighteenth-century industry, for the river has its fall line immediately above its broad, sluggish estuary. This felicitous union of fall-line power and tidewater transportation within a stretch of only four miles was highly attractive to the proto-industrialists of the eighteenth century...
