Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Wednesday night moved to set up a key vote Friday on Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination, setting the stage for a final vote by the weekend.

As he made that move, McConnell said that the Senate "will receive" the results of a time-limited FBI inquiry into sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh. Senators are expected to view that report from the FBI under restricted parameters throughout the day Thursday before the Friday vote.
