Vice President Pence made his way back to Iowa yesterday, and you can bet Gov. Reynolds wouldn't miss it -- she even met him on the airport tarmac to roll out her welcome.

While Fred is on the road meeting with farmers and agricultural producers being hit the hardest by the administration's devastating trade war that could cost our state $1.2 billion, Kim Reynolds was posing for a photo op with the Vice President.

But we're not that surprised. Republicans like Pence are all-in to elect Gov. Reynolds to a full term in November, and she's happy to play along. The Vice President has shown a special interest in keeping Iowa under Republican control this year (this is his second trip to Iowa in six months) -- and if her response to the trade war is any indication, she's not ruffling any feathers with national Republicans to defend Iowa's agricultural economy when given the opportunity.

Pence's PAC already gave $10,000 to Gov. Reynolds campaign, and when fundraising numbers go public after Saturday's filing deadline, we wouldn't be surprised to see more from his PAC or the Republican Governors Association -- especially now that our race is a "Toss-Up".

When those numbers go public, we need to make sure we can go toe-to-toe with Gov. Reynolds' deep pocketed backers like Pence, the RGA, and every other special interest she has on her side ready to write those big checks.
