State Funding for ALS Services Tops $ 1 Million!
Thanks to dozens of incredible advocates, for the first time ever we’ve topped $ 1 million in combined funding for ALS care and services from the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. A 50% funding increase in PA, sustained funding in NJ, and a significant increase in the Delaware Grant-in-Aid contributed to this historic achievement. But, it doesn’t stop here. Biomarkers: Game-changing Research Currently, there are no FDA-approved biomarkers on the market for ALS. When the day comes, it will be a game-changer for the ALS community. Thanks to funds made possible by the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, Dr. Marka Van Blitterswijk is currently conducting research on biomarkers and the C9orf72 gene mutation.
