*It’s Homecoming Week! Go Quakers!* This fall has already been so busy—One Acts, sporting events, Back to School Night, and more! Our sophomores have a busy short week ahead of them, with PSATs on Wednesday, a talent show, Next-to-New shopping, a pep rally, amazing home and away sporting events, and a dance. Whew! *Parent Peer Groups* The Quality of Community Life Committee along with your four 10th Grade Representatives warmly invite you to a parent peer group meeting the evening of Homecoming on Saturday, October 18th beginning at 8:30 p.m. (or as soon as you drop off your student at the Dance) in the Arts Center. Refreshments will be served, and then parents will break out into grade level groups of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. There will be two trained facilitators present for each grade; please join us in a supportive atmosphere for a discussion on a range of topics that impact us and our students. *10th Grade Parent Potlucks* It's that time of year for the wonderful Sidwell Friends tradition of Potluck Dinners. For those who aren't familiar, it's a fun and casual opportunity for parents to gather, get to know one another better and chat. We need 10th Grade families who are willing to host a dinner—or even a Sunday brunch—in their home at the end of October or early-to-mid November. If you are willing to host please email Linda Harrington Baker at lharringtonbaker@comcast.net ASAP. Please let Linda know what date works best for you and how many people you can comfortably host. Remember this is an informal gathering. Generally the host provides the main course and everyone else brings the sides, beverages and desserts. It can be as simple as a big pot of chili and friends gathered on the floor. No formal sit down meal required! Once our hosts are set, we will email you all again with the available dates and you can indicate which date works best for you.
