Be Thou a Yogi is an interactive “training” curriculum designed to help the Ananda Virtual Community members dive deeper into the teachings of Self-realization.

Swami Kriyananda often emphasized that the Path of Self-Realization, as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda, is more than a conglomeration of techniques: it is a way of life. Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings are rich and multi-faceted, and contain many subtle spiritual precepts that are best grasped through a proper, well-structured curriculum. Be Thou a Yogi is a course designed to supply this curriculum through weekly classes and the novel Let’s Train Together assignments.

Be Thou a Yogi replicates, for the Virtual Community Members, one of the deepest benefits of living in a physical Ananda community such as Ananda Village: the opportunity to deepen our attunement to these teachings by training together.

This course, finally, aims to train us to become the ‘technological yogi’ that Paramhansa Yogananda refers to in the concluding paragraph of his chapter on Kriya Yoga in the Autobiography of a Yogi:
