Hey guys - On Monday, make sure to mention Alan McNab (primarily) and John Bruno. Alan is the GM of NCR for Ireland and John is NCR's President. Alan is responsible for making the introduction of me to Tim's team in the pursuit of business with Rosemont Seneca. I worked with John and Alan at Cisco back in 2002-2006 and Bill was the original sponsor of my project at Cisco along with James Richardson. I am not sure how Bill will like hearing James's name - they were rival contemporary's for sure. But make sure you give Alan his props. I also helped Alan create his consulting business and set him up for his first client which was Merrill Lynch where John Bruno was the CIO, prior to becoming President at NCR. And I helped Alan through his divorce a few years back by being a pal for a year, so a long history here. In fact Alan offered to get Rob on the most exclusive golf courses in Dublin (The Island, The Royal Dublin and the K Club) back in April, and I think his crew was having a bit too much fun to take him up on that offer. Maybe we can play all three soon enough. If the future, any key meetings regarding accounts or relationships that I lead or have originated, I would like to have the opportunity to attend. At this point I cannot change my flight plans, but I would have liked to have had the opportunity to plan accordingly. I am sure you both would want the same courtesy regarding your key accounts and relationships. Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday afternoon. Say hello to Bill for me. All is well. Thanks for reaching out - realized late yesterday we really hadn't touched base. One of those typical summer weeks where Mondays and Fridays are dead and everyone wants to cram five days of work into Tuesdays-Thursdays. We are good for NCR. We have a standard deck - which really is a slight variation on one I think you originally put together that describes the firm capabilities, etc. that I'll have Mike share with you on Monday. We can decide if that is what we want to share with Stan. We never met with Stan last week - he was out of town but did a couple calls with him (and Marija and Gary) on Postal. Tuesday's meeting is to quickly review where we are on Postal/Amtrak, confirm we are extending our current contract and then hearing Stan's thoughts on his goals/needs. I'd like to then propose that we get back to him with a more detailed presentation in a couple of weeks. He seemed to have some set ideas so I'd like to hear him out before giving him anything more than our standard deck. What do you think? I see the meeting still mostly focused on the current scope of work. We did a lot of prep for the Nuti meeting on our weekly Thursday 3pm call this week with Marija, et. al. I think Mike is including you on those emails for the call, correct? Not essential you be on, but want to make sure you have it on your calendar if you are able. Nuti is arriving at Dulles at 10:30am and Marija is riding out in the car to pick him up and brief him on the way back to DC. Bill was informed in his briefing materials that the USPS contract is looking lost. Marija is not looking forward to the ride in to town with him. Bill's first meeting is with Dennis at Noon. Hunter and I are going to go over at Noon to introduce Dennis to Bill and just sort of kick things off. That should run to about 1pm. (Dennis told me he's going to offer to set up other meetings with Board members for Bill.) Then Bill is being briefed for his Hill meetings in the afternoon (it is actually a light schedule but it is a Monday which is a bad day for Hill meetings) and then he takes off. His Geithner meeting got postponed until later this week (b/c of debt ceiling talks) and he's coming back to DC for that. Sounds like a large NCR contingent hanging around Bill all day - Marija, Tim, Peter, Stan, Gary. (Seems like a lot of people in the room for a Bill/Dennis "relationship" building meeting, but what do I know? Hunter and I are probably going to peel out of the meeting by 12:30/12:45 to allow a little more personal bonding time with Dennis/Bill.) On John's proposal, Hunter, Devon and I have all looked at it and discussed briefly - Hunter has been largely out of pocket this week as he's been on a boat in Lake Michigan - but we are all prepared to discuss and make the meeting productive. I agree it is pretty simple. Hunter and I will be back in the office by 3:30ish and we can get started with our meeting by 4 at the latest. I think we were tentatively planning dinner for 6:30pm (at West End Bistro at 22nd and M Sts.) so it should give us time to meet, take a break and reconvene over dinner. Like you say, it is pretty simple. I think we all just want to meet Lara and come up with a structure/timeline that works for all. Let me know if you have any additional thoughts. See you Monday. Did you and Rob get a chance to meet with him this past week or if this the meeting? Do we want to present a RSP capabilities deck to him? I think we should at least have a leave behind deck for him to learn more about the firm, what we can do, etc. We only have an hour, so could you send out an agenda of what you want to cover and we can work up the content needed to support the agenda. Is Marija all set for Bill Nuti meetings on Monday? The Gietner meeting sound like a great get on her part. Is there a chance we could meet up with him later in the day? I know you mentioned Hunter won't be in DC that morning, maybe we can ask Marija for a time before our dinner with John and Lara. Did you and the rest of the team have any comments on the documents that John circulated? I'd love to make this a productive meeting and get to a go/no-go decision by the end of the day. It's pretty straight forward. We just need to put a structure in place that make sense to everyone. I get into do DC on Monday at 1pm, so I should be over at the office by 1:30pm or so. I have a 7pm flight out on Tuesday, but will play it by ear in terms of what else is going after our 10am meeting with Stan. John and Lara are both back to SF on early flights on Tuesday morning.
