FIRST IN PI: STREETT HEADS TO BP: Mary Streett joins BP as vice president and head of U.S. Government Affairs. BP Senior Vice President of Communications & External Affairs Geoff Morrell announced the news to staff earlier today via an email shared with PI. The hire completes BP's communications and external affairs leadership team. Streett will oversee federal, state and local government relations and play a central role in campaign planning. She makes the jump from Exelon, where she served as vice president of federal government affairs. She previously practiced law for Mayer Brown and was a partner in the firm's Government and Global Trade Group in D.C. She worked in the White House during the Clinton Administration and at the U.S. Commerce Department as deputy general counsel. Streett also worked on the Clinton-Gore, Gore-Lieberman and Kerry-Edwards campaigns, as well as on Rahm Emanuel's first campaign for Congress.
