Dear Middle School parents,

The police have put in place a new procedure for the afternoon pick-up on 37th Street – they are not allowing cars to wait in the block north of the school, between Tilden and Upton, unless they are in a parking place. They are enforcing this strictly as of yesterday and are asking cars to move south and park near the athletic center or to circle the block and come around again.

The best way to work with this system is to plan your afternoon arrival at the time when your child is ready to be picked up. Cars that arrive early and occupy space in the pick-up area by the Middle School are causing others to have to circle the block, so we ask that no one arrive before 3:30, and we encourage – as we always have – drivers to spread out arrival times. Please be aware of this new procedure and inform anyone who drives for you.

I also want to emphasize that we cannot allow anyone to be picked up from the middle of the street – drivers must be at the curb before we will allow students to get into a car.

I’ll be out to help as much as I can –
