Our immigration system is broken -- but we're closer than we've ever been to fixing it.

When Congress returns to Washington after the Easter recess, comprehensive immigration reform will be on the agenda.

Our opponents -- the groups on the other side that are trying to stop reform -- are hoping they can derail our momentum while our representatives are back in their home districts.

It's on every one of us to organize where we live now to keep the pressure on Congress to act.

Starting Monday, Organizing for Action is mobilizing in communities across the country for a comprehensive immigration reform Week of Action -- and that includes folks in Landover.

Right now, too many employers are gaming our broken system by hiring undocumented workers. There are 11 million people living in the shadows with no real, clear path to citizenship.

It's bad for our economy, and it's just not who we are as a nation.

Fixing this will require accountability -- from the undocumented workers to the business owners who hire them -- to make sure everyone plays by the same rules.

President Obama's leadership on this issue is a start, but real progress will be made only if Democratic and Republican elected officials work together on a solution. Every day, we're getting closer to a truly bipartisan bill.

That's exciting -- now, it's on us to keep moving the ball forward. That's why your neighbors are getting together in Landover on Saturday.
