Following last month's summit meeting between Prime Minister Abe and President Obama, Prime Minister Abe formally announced on March 15 his intent to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations. Ambassador Sasae will discuss how Japan's commitment to concluding a comprehensive, high-standard TPP agreement will benefit both the United States and Japanese economies and strengthen the bilateral alliance.
