April 23, 2012 Dear Classmates of Buddy '89 & Jeff '92 Hurlock: As many of you may know, Archmere alumnus *Alfred (Buddy) Hurlock '89*, (brother of Jeff Hurlock '92,) formerly the sports reporter for the Delaware News Journal, suffered a spontaneous brain hemorrhage in November of 2010. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had been participating in a number of treatments and regimens, funded with the help of Buddy's Battle, a charity created by Buddy’s family to raise money to help ease the cost of medical expenses needed for Buddy’s treatment and to fund related research. Recently, Buddy and his family have decided to stop his current chemo and not do any further treatment due to his worsening condition and his weakened state. Kevin Tresolini and the News Journal, in conjunction with the Blue Rocks, will be hosting a game in Buddy's honor on Sunday, May 20th. The game is at 1:35 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from special tickets will go toward Buddy's Battle. You can go to buddysbattle.org or e-mail buddysbattle@gmail.com to find out more and to purchase tickets. If you are not able to attend the game, please continue to keep Buddy and his family in your prayers. Sincerely, Michael A. Marinelli, Ed.D. ‘76 Headmaster Archmere Academy 3600 Phialdelphia Pike Claymont, DE 19703 (302)-798-6632 archmereacademy.co
