In the midst of the fall of the Roman Empire people lost faith and acted inhumanly, the citizens were losing faith in their empire. Religion became a trap of constant battles and war became a daily pass time. Emperors were corrupt, senators did not have the peoples interest in mind. Life became worthless. “Bloodshed led to more bloodshed and extreme cruelty. The values, the ideals, customs, traditions and institutions, of the Romans decayed. The basic moralities, ethics and decisions about what was appreciated or significant in life also deteriorated.” (Unkown. "Reasons Why the Roman Empire Fell." *Roman Empire*. Roman Colosseum, Jan. 2008. Web. 6 Apr. 2013. <http://www.roman-colosseum.info/roman-empire index.htm>. ) There was disregard for human life and it resulted in a lack of ethics. There was a immoral and corrupt view of what was right and wrong, good and bad, agreeable and disagreeable. There are many theories as to why the Roman Empire fell. The most prominent and logical reasons are Christianity’s effect on the roman mindset, economic and political corruption which lead to decrease in military power, (the barbarian invasion) and expansion of the Arab empire. Some historians even argue that Rome never fell it just went through a series of many complex transitions. The fall is believed to have begun when Julius and Augustus Caesar used their power to influence the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire. During this period Rome reached its peak up until the 2nd century AD when it’s believed to have begun decline, so much that Rome ceased to be an effective capitol (Hefner, Ben. The Fall of the Roman Empire Essay. N/A: N/A, 2011. Print.) The Roman Empire is a period in Ancient Rome referring to a period when Rome and its territories were ruled by autocratic Emperors. ------------------------------ *From:* Finnegan Biden *Sent:* Tuesday, April 09, 2013 11:00 AM *To:* Finnegan Biden *Subject:* Introduction In the midst of the fall of the Roman Empire people lost faith and acted inhumanly, the citizens were losing faith in their empire.
