As the May 15^th primary election approaches, the race for Oregon State Attorney General tightens between Democratic candidates Dwight Holton and Ellen Rosenblum as they fight for campaign cash. Reports indicate that Rosenblum has raised nearly $200,000 while Holton has raised about $222,000. Both former U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton and former Appeals Court judge Ellen Rosenblum are courting the unions after their role in getting John Kroger elected as Attorney General in 2008. Dwight Holton has received support from both Oregon Education Association and from IBEW, Local 48, according to a new disclosure reports. Ellen Rosenblum recently received endorsement from public employees’ union AFSCME Council 75. Last week, Dwight Holton was endorsed by former Democratic candidate for State Attorney General Katherine Heekin in addition to gaining the local support of thirty of Oregon's district attorneys. Ellen Rosenblum has the support of Congressman Blumenauer and former Attorney Generals Dave Frohnmayer and Hardy Myers. No Republican candidates filed by the March deadline. Horne said the allegations now under investigation by the FBI are false. He has retained a personal attorney in the matter.
