Our room block only has a handful of rooms remaining. Please make your

355-3000 and request the DAGA 2012 Spring Policy Conference Room Block
by April 18, 2012. We have blocked a limited number of rooms for our
guests at a special rate of $299.00 per night plus tax and fees for May
10-11. We cannot guarantee this rate or room availability if our block
sells out before April 18, 2012 or if you do not reserve your room
before April 18, 2012.

enjoys warm weather even in May with highs in the mid-70s and lows in

As the May 15^th primary election approaches, the race for Oregon State
Attorney General tightens between Democratic candidates Dwight Holton
and Ellen Rosenblum as they fight for campaign cash. Reports indicate
that Rosenblum has raised nearly $200,000 while Holton has raised about
$222,000.

Both former U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton and former Appeals Court judge
Ellen Rosenblum are courting the unions after their role in getting
John Kroger elected as Attorney General in 2008. Dwight Holton has
received support from both Oregon Education Association and from IBEW,
Local 48, according to a new disclosure reports. Ellen Rosenblum
recently received endorsement from public employees’ union AFSCME
Council 75.

Last week, Dwight Holton was endorsed by former Democratic candidate
for State Attorney General Katherine Heekin in addition to gaining the
local support of thirty of Oregon's district attorneys. Ellen Rosenblum
has the support of Congressman Blumenauer and former Attorney Generals
Dave Frohnmayer and Hardy Myers. No Republican candidates filed by the
March deadline.

Oregon Attorney General John Kroger famously won election to office in
2008 with the unusually strong financial support of the state's largest
union, Service Employees International Union. Now Kroger's hoped-for
successor, former acting U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton, is attracting
some of his own big union donations. New disclosure reports show he
received $10,000 from the Oregon Education Association and $10,000 from
the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 48 -- both
of which are also powerhouses in state politics.

[13]Same-Sex Marriage Amendment In Ohio Gets Green Light

Marriage equality advocates in Ohio took one step closer Tuesday to
overturning the state's 2004 constitutional amendment that restricts
marriages in the state to only those between one man and one woman.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine (R) approved the petition language
for an amendment that would redefine marriage in Ohio as “a union of
two consenting adults, regardless of gender," according to the Columbus
Dispatch.

Chittenden County State’s Attorney TJ Donovan has hired a team of
experienced campaign staff to support his run for the office of
Attorney General of Vermont. The three new staffers bring more than 30
years of political and campaign experience.

[15]Horne denies illegal role in campaign ads

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne denied allegations Monday that he
was involved in an independent expenditure committee that ran TV ads
attacking his Democratic opponent during the hotly contested 2010 race
for the state’s top prosecutors’ post. Horne said the allegations now
under investigation by the FBI are false. He has retained a personal
attorney in the matter.
