Schwerin" <eschwerin@rosemontseneca.com> Cc: "Cromarty, Geoffrey \"Jeff\"" <CromartyG@philau.edu> Eric: I hope you and Hunter are doing well. It’s the first day of “pitchers and catchers” and that means spring is around the corner and, at Philadelphia University, that also means focusing n Commencement. My colleague and our Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Geoffrey Cromarty, wisely thought it might be useful to follow up and ask whether there might be anything constructive to do on our end in support of our invitation to the Vice President to participate as a speaker and honorary degree recipient at our Commencement on May 17. Earlier in his career, Jeff served as deputy director in the Office of Constituent Relations for former New Jersey Governor Thomas H. Kean and also as an administrator in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. He thoroughly appreciates the governmental and political dynamics associated with our request to the Vice President and especially how any decision will serve the scheduling and policy priorities of the President. And he appreciates the special help that you and Hunter have provided in this effort. Still it would be wrong of us to sit back and let you do all the work. I did forward the attached invitation to Alex Hornbrook as suggested. Alex was kind to acknowledge receipt of the invitation in the Vice President’s office. If you think that any books or brochures or materials — or even YouTube and online links — about Philadelphia University would be useful to share with either you or Hunter or Alex, then please let me know. We are ready and prepared to do anything, everything, or if you think best, nothing. Staf safe in the snow. Give my best to Hunter and the Vice President and Dr. Biden. Look forward to hearing from you and, hopefully, I’ll be down soon to see you in person.
