"Coloradans won't be fooled, even if The Denver Post was," the ad reads, ripping Gardner for his positions on abortion, pollution and immigration. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f013852419aa9885f5c96df94ad41bf23fa15d2e5d7a08f425 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f013852419aa9885f5c96df94ad41bf23fa15d2e5d7a08f425 EXCLUSIVE - Tisei on the air with contrast spot in MA-06: Republican Richard Tisei is going on the air with a 30-second spot that calls Democrat Seth Moulton untrustworthy and supported by "Wall Street special interests." Looking into the camera, Tisei mentions his husband, Bernie Starr, and says he'll fight "for working families, the disabled, seniors and small businesses." The ad is supported by a six-figure buy, according to Tisei's campaign. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f0c5364078fddaafbb2dec3fbddee3e1607b2e2df49ceebd08 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f0c5364078fddaafbb2dec3fbddee3e1607b2e2df49ceebd08 - The spot comes as the DCCC signaled plans to shift dollars away from Moulton, confident they'll keep the seat Democratic in November. POLITICO's Alex Isenstadt reports the decision cuts short about $430,000 of air time the committee had planned on Moulton's behalf. Another $800,000 marked for two vulnerable New Hampshire Democrats is still on track to be spent. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f098e0609a2dba136d074b004d9bf1d5278c0b3b7c0b3bde86 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f098e0609a2dba136d074b004d9bf1d5278c0b3b7c0b3bde86 AIR WARS - Carter camp nails Deal on ethics issues: Democrat Jason Carter is on the air this morning with an ad targeting Georgia's GOP Gov. Nathan Deal for what it describes as enriching himself while in office. "How'd he get rich? Deal sold his salvage yard for over $3 million to a company that owes Georgia $74 million in back taxes," a female narrator says. "Nathan Deal, putting money in his pocket, not ours." It's a hard-hitting spot as Democrats hope to inch ahead in a tight race against the incumbent. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f02ed677989a997fed5a8a09773654bc9340cf7b19d6db9700 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=a3cdef43e98079f02ed677989a997fed5a8a09773654bc9340cf7b19d6db9700 - Tillis rips Hagan on stimulus vote: North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis is launching his first ad Friday that suggests his opponent personally profited from the stimulus. The coming offensive will reach as far as President Barack Obama's home state of Hawaii, where recent polling in one district has shown Republicans to be surprisingly competitive. It will also take them to a liberal northeastern Iowa seat where Democrats are suddenly on defense, and to an upstate New York district not long ago seen as safe for the president's party." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b4555d988d8b9cb3e8dd753b1020b44ddaa3201f8d85f50c2f63b http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b4555d988d8b9cb3e8dd753b1020b44ddaa3201f8d85f50c2f63b FIRST IN SCORE - RNC gambles to ride wave: The RNC said earlier this week that strong fundraising in September ($13.3 million) had allowed them to transfer an additional $4 million to the NRSC, $1 million to the NRCC and $1.5 million to state parties with key Senate races. Just ahead of the Oct. 20 deadline to report their financial activities to the RNC, the committee tells POLITICO Campaign Pro that they also took out a $5 million loan to help finance those transfers, arguing that the favorable environment warrants additional investment. "This is the time when you double down to win," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said. "I feel really good about where our campaigns are, and we're going to do everything we can to take back the Senate in November." Rick Scott defended his role in a public spat with Democrat Charlie Crist over Crist's use of an electric fan during a Wednesday night debate. Speaking on CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Scott insisted that he wasn't even aware of the fan controversy until later. Despite numerous reports that he refused to join Crist on stage as a result of the fan, Scott told the station that he was simply sitting around waiting for the debate organizers to give him the green light. But the Miami Herald reports that the Scott camp was angry about the fan before the debate: "As Scott waited in an RV parked outside, his advisers loudly protested the presence of Crist's portable fan, which he has used for years to appear cool under hot TV lights. Scott's advisers urged Wendy Walker of Leadership Florida and Dean Ridings of the Florida Press Association to end the debate before it started. But the host station, Miami's WFOR, refused to pull the plug. Scott debate adviser Brett O'Donnell found WFOR news director Liz Roldan and started yelling about the fan. Dan Gelber, Crist's debate point man, insisted the fan would stay. Roldan, who declined to comment for this story, stood firm. 'We're producing the debate,' she said. 'We go live at 7.'" http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b45555fce9d1cdda54b9d9025589a50c844f4411425866cecf435 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b45555fce9d1cdda54b9d9025589a50c844f4411425866cecf435 POLICY ON THE BALLOT - Advocacy group plans to play in 2014 and 2016: Save the Children Action Network, the political arm of a nonprofit focused on early intervention services for kids, is hoping to make a splash in the midterms with a series of ads in battleground states - a preview of what the group says will also be a full-throttle effort in 2016. It's an early look at what the group says is an attempt to advance a specific policy goal through sophisticated political advocacy. So far, the group's ads have been aimed at thanking supportive elected officials from local, state and federal governments. It's also touting "extensive polling and research work" by Republican firm TargetPoint Consulting and Democratic firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner to help identify target demographics in the races it's watching, including IL-08 and CA-07 House races. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b4555dabf4d69388b7ed996332dd8a4ea791ec8578e2f3f75ebb8 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b4555dabf4d69388b7ed996332dd8a4ea791ec8578e2f3f75ebb8 FIGHT NIGHT - Score's roundup of last night's debates: IA-Sen: "Iowa Senate candidates clash on Ebola," by Campaign Pro's James Hohmann: Thursday night's debate between Democrat Bruce Braley and Republican Joni Ernst featured a heavy focus on ebola and the government's response to the outbreak. Pro's Hohmann reports: "Braley, locked in a margin-of-error race, said at the start of his hour-long meeting with Republican Joni Ernst at Morningside College in Sioux City that he asked 'tough questions and demanded answers' during a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing earlier in the day ...'We need to do more,' responded Ernst. 'Unfortunately our administration, including Congressman Braley, has been very reactive, rather than proactive.'" The debate also featured fights over personhood, foreign policy and negative ads. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b4555a4c47ee7e862ba79a2dcc2e6eab5394f5bc9cf4ddbdf82f7 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b4555a4c47ee7e862ba79a2dcc2e6eab5394f5bc9cf4ddbdf82f7 ME-02: The second debate between Republican Bruce Poliquin and Democrat Emily Cain got testy as the two were offered a chance to ask questionns of each other, CentralMaine.com reports: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b45557ab781b23a163b5044a308ed4d39b2ae34088d96d66f2e69 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=323184b26a7b45557ab781b23a163b5044a308ed4d39b2ae34088d96d66f2e69 CT-Gov: An increasingly tense contest between Gov. Bruce Braley's campaign ... But there's one key player holding onto his campaign cash: Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin. Despite direct appeals from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other top Democrats, Harkin has refused to transfer money from his $2.4 million campaign account to the [DSCC], according to sources and campaign finance records. Mary Landrieu, joining the endangered incumbent in the state capital of Baton Rouge. Clinton, unlike President Barack Obama, can be an effective surrogate in the red Southern states where the Democratic majority hangs in the balance. Last week, Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes was our "winner" and this week it's Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell. A McConnell ad purports to show "shocking" video evidence from Grimes' "own staff" that proves "Grimes is lying" about her support for coal. But these are not the Watergate tapes. None of those featured in the ad is a paid staffer with the Grimes campaign, and all of them are expressing their personal opinions - not revealing campaign strategy. The Grimes supporters were surreptitiously videotaped by conservative activist James O'Keefe's http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=e7f01998bbb5e4650fe72c71caad19849abc55d3fe19ae1e0e621c1262ea8b87 Project Veritas Action Fund as they were meeting with undercover actors who posed as liberals concerned about Grimes' coal-friendly statements. The McConnell campaign says "Grimes is lying" without considering the possibility that the supporters shown in the video are just telling the undercover actors what they think the actors want to hear.
