Ciao from SYA!

You are receiving this email because Finnegan has recently expressed interest in SYA Italy, and we’d like to introduce ourselves. SYA is a non-profit study abroad and homestay program for American high-school students in the 11th and 12th grades. Established in 1964 by Phillips Academy Andover in Massachusetts, SYA operates four independent American schools in China, France, Italy and Spain.

SYA Italy students attend classes in Viterbo, two hours north of Rome, with sixty other American juniors and seniors for an entire academic year; engage in an exciting global curriculum that brings the language and history of Italy to life while keeping up with English and math; live with a hand-picked and carefully screened Italian family; and travel extensively throughout their host country. All SYA schools adhere to a rigorous academic standard and, with the help of college counselors, prepare their students for admission to selective colleges and universities.

SYA produces young adults that are globally minded, proficient in a second language and intellectually curious. Moreover, SYA schools provide an eye-opening cultural experience that encourages personal growth and serves as an advantage during the college admissions process.

We know that the prospect of allowing your daughter to study abroad for a year can be daunting. Rest assured that parents around the country have been putting their trust in SYA for 50 years with fantastic results. Please visit www.sya.org to learn more about SYA Italy. I’d also like to introduce you to Matt Levinson, Assistant Director of Admissions who will serve as your main point of contact throughout the admissions process. Matt can be reached at:

Matt will be happy to answer any of your questions and to put you in touch with parents of recent SYA Italy alumni. In the meantime, visit our website www.sya.org to read our http://api.inresonance.com/blt/?r=4-63548808571-344017-397358476038940&m=4-63548808577-768991-894971635854782, view videos and see our campuses in action.

You should feel very proud that Finnegan possesses the curiosity, open-mindedness and drive of a future SYAer!

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Rachel Keegan Kelley
SYA Director of Admissions
