Sorry to miss you last night. Eric said we just missed each other. Jim Mowrer seems like a solid guy. I know I am getting old when I see young guys like Jim running for Congress.

I just got this email from WFP which reminded me of our conversation. I know you and Dan Glickman are involved in World Food Program USA board. I would like to figure out how to get involved. I was Dan's Deputy Chief of Staff at USDA and then Deputy Administrator at the Foreign Agricultural Service which oversaw many of these programs so I have a background in the area.

Pls let me know your thoughts.

Today, we want to update you on how some of the events you may have heard about lately in the news are impacting the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP)'s hunger relief. Last year, we wrote to you about a crisis in Syria and the natural disaster in the Philippines.

Now WFP, the world's largest hunger relief agency, is facing two additional emergencies in South Sudan and the Central African Republic. This is all while WFP continues its work helping Filipino and Syrian families piece their lives back together.

WFP has never needed to respond to four emergencies at once and these "quadruple crises" are draining resources and stretching WFP's capacity to meet growing needs.
