How we'll get Cory on the ballot in 2014:

Dear Friend,

Last week, I wrote you about our plan to get Cory on the ballot and set a goal to raise $10,000 this week to make it happen.

We’re now only $2,253 shy of our goal.

Next week, we’re planning volunteer training events across the state. The money we raise will go toward getting New Jerseyans who believe in Cory ready to start collecting signatures.

Though it seems like we just won, Cory is up for election again this year and it will take all of us working together to cross the finish line as winners.

The first step is getting Cory on the ballot. To get on the ballot in New Jersey, we need supporters across the state to sign their names to a petition saying that they want another chance to vote for Cory. We’ve set an aggressive goal of 20,000 signatures to get Cory on the ballot in New Jersey -- it's an important test to prove the strength of Cory’s grass-roots support.

This month, we’re planning a push to gather signatures: neighbor-to-neighbor outreach, phone banking and events. We need to raise $10,000 by the end of this week to make it happen.

Last year, we won a special election on a Wednesday in October by starting a conversation -- neighbor to neighbor, person to person -- about building a better New Jersey where more people have an opportunity to succeed. Now we have to do it again.

The petitioning process is important because if we get an impressive number of signatures, we’ll send a message to pundits and the media that the people who make up this campaign are powerful and the ideas at its center are urgent.

Grassroots supporters like you powered our first campaign, but if we want Cory on the ballot in 2014 we have to get back to work.
