Golf Shop Update

Congratulations to the team of Jeff Diemand, Cliff Johnson and Gerry Byrne for emerging victorious in the Captain's Choice event held last weekend. Also, congratulations to Jason Linn for his win in the Firecracker Derby on the weekend of the 4th. Thank you again to all who play in the LBCC golf events!

Upcoming Events

Friday Night Couples - Friday, July 20th beginning at 5:00 p.m. Sign up as a couple for this event and you will play a 9 hole competition followed by a buffet dinner upstairs in the dining room. Sign up in the hallway outside the golf shop or call the shop at 219-872-8547 and we can add you to the event.

Blind Draw Tee Game - Saturday July 21st beginning at 8:00 a.m. Sign up as a single and the golf shop will do an A-B-C-D blind draw where you will play in a 2 Better Ball of Four event with full handicap. Tee times will be held from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 9:00 a.m. depending upon the size of the field.

Junior Golf Skills Challenge and Cookout - Monday July 23rd beginning at 8:00 a.m. Open to all juniors enrolled in the junior golf programs. All participants and parents are to be there by 8:00 a.m. and you will compete for prizes in chipping, putting and driving. We will have a casual cookout after the competition consisting of hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks.

Member-Daughter Championship - Friday, July 27th beginning at 12:00 noon. Call the golf shop and we will add you in at the time you would like to play. Cost is $20 per family. Divisions are 18 hole gross combined, 9 hole gross combined, 9 hole alternate shot, 9 hole alternate shot (Under age 15) and 3 hole alternate shot.

Member - Son Championship - Saturday, July 28th beginning at 7:00 a.m. Sign up on the bulletin board outside the golf shop at the time you would like to play. Divisions included are 18 hole gross combined, 18 hole net combined, 9 hole alternate shot and 3 hole alternate shot.

Junior Club Championship - Monday, July 30th. 18 and 9 hole golfers arrive at 7:30 a.m. 6 and 3 hole golfers arrive at 9:00 a.m. and 1 hole golfers arrive at 10:00 a.m.

Junior Golf Awards Night - Friday, August 3rd on the Patio beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Presidents Cup Matches - Saturday, August 4th. 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Players will be paired in groups of 3 and will play against the other 2 for points per hole (1 point for winning the hole, 1/2 point for halving the hole and 0 points for loss of hole). The top 4 and ties will then play a 3 hole shootout to determine the overall President's Cup champion. Sign up on the bulletin board outside the shop or call us!

Adopt a Hole is Back! Two years ago we asked for members to "adopt" a hole by picking up divot mix and filling divots as needed. We are re-adopting the "Adopt a Hole" again for 2012.
