Friends,As summer comes to a close, I write to share with you an important collection of back-to-school announcements that are posted online in the Parent Portal. The website contains details about student orientation, opening day, and other 2016/17 events and activities. You will also find letters from each of the division principals, from the athletic director, and from me.Please note two important things: A test of the Urgent Notification System will occur on August 18 at 11:00 a.m. Phone calls, text messages, and e-mails will be sent using all contact information that the School has on file for parents and alternate contacts. Please inform your alternate contacts about the test. An important Upper School date has changed. The Upper School will be closed on November 11 because 9th grade parent conferences are being held on that day. The date was previously listed as November 18 in the Academic Calendar; it is now updated in the online and print calendars.If you have any specific questions, please contact your child’s principal’s office, or feel free to call my office directly at 202-537-8102.
