Wisconsin is shaping up to be a major battleground in 2016, and the race there is key to Democrats' chances to take back the Senate. The Washington Post says it's the second-best pickup opportunity for Democrats this cycle, and Cook Political Report calls Wisconsin a toss-up.

Russ and I served together in the Senate just as I took office, and I was struck by his strong work ethic and his commitment to the people of Wisconsin. He will stand up against the absurd obstructionism that's leaving the Supreme Court shorthanded and preventing us from addressing too many challenges facing our country today.

Russ is exactly the sort of progressive champion we need in the Senate -- and we have to take back his seat. I hope I can count on you to stand with me and help him stay on track to win.
