Dear Members of the Board, We hope this finds you and yours well and enjoying summer. We would like to provide you with an update on plans for our upcoming Board meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18th from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm at our office in Washington. As you recall, WFP USA’s Global Humanitarian Award<https://www.wfpusa.org/about-wfp-usa/awards-and-events/global-humanitarian-award/> was established in late 2015 and in December we announced that the Award would be presented to Sandy Berger. On Monday, October 17th, we will host a reception and dinner in Washington D.C. at Decatur House<https://www.whitehousehistory.org/the-historic-decatur-house> to present the Inaugural Global Humanitarian Award to Sandy’s family. Former colleagues and close friends of Sandy’s will be in attendance to discuss and honor Sandy’s legacy and decades of leadership. We certainly hope that you can join us as well. Meeting requests with event details will be sent to your calendar. We plan to hold a block of hotel rooms near Decatur House and WFP USA, so if you would like us to reserve a room in your name, please let us know by September 15th. We look forward to seeing you soon, and to honoring our good friend Sandy Berger.
