Here's what's going on at the White House today. THE SNAPSHOT Thursday, July 28, 2016 Follow Along: Today's Schedule All times are Eastern Time (ET) 11:30 am: The President receives the Presidential Daily Briefing 3:00 pm: The Vice President delivers remarks at a vigil honoring the three fallen law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty Featured https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca3cf405eb47d66ac434f9a66a04bbb1935fab393cdb73c0c16ae93afb4f2e6e85e This is Progress. After seven and a half years, let's look back at the road we've traveled: America is back to work, with 14.8 million private-sector jobs created over the last 76 months. Unemployment has declined from 10 percent to 4.9 percent. We cut our deficit from 9.8 percent of GDP in 2009 to 2.5 percent today. Health care is no longer a privilege for a few, but a right for all. More of our troops are home with their families, with fewer than 15,000 remaining in Iraq and Afghanistan. Clean energy is increasingly powering America's homes and businesses. And where there were only four states in 2009 that recognized the right to marry the person you love, love won. That's progress. https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca346c71c43d1e9726960680ff2b90e7eec31bd8283ec9881971e8f2d811dd751b8 https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca3cf405eb47d66ac434f9a66a04bbb1935fab393cdb73c0c16ae93afb4f2e6e85e LEARN HOW FAR WE'VE COME More from 1600 Penn https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca34ff98c3630aab384c72ccaef2c7b80a666a1d924d6620322b42950ed7186d095 Our Diversity is Our Strength: The 26th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act "At a time when so many doubted that people with disabilities could contribute to our economy or support their families, the Americans with Disabilities Act assumed they could, and guided the way forward. Today, as we reflect on the courage and commitment of all who made this achievement possible, let us renew our obligation to extend the promise of the American dream to all our people, and let us recommit to building a world free of unnecessary barriers and full of deeper understanding of those living with disabilities." -- https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca34ff98c3630aab384c72ccaef2c7b80a666a1d924d6620322b42950ed7186d095 President Obama on the 26th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca34ff98c3630aab384c72ccaef2c7b80a666a1d924d6620322b42950ed7186d095 https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca34ff98c3630aab384c72ccaef2c7b80a666a1d924d6620322b42950ed7186d095 LEARN MORE Throwback Thursday Six years ago on July 28, the President traveled to Edison, New Jersey to discuss the economy and understand the hardships facing small business owners. Since taking office, President Obama has acted aggressively to rebuild our economy on a stronger long-term foundation, restart growth and job creation, encourage entrepreneurs to start new businesses, and expand opportunity for all Americans. https://click.mail.whitehouse.gov/?qs=43a0a08523efdca33c87b715f81368c661054478d85f780376741bf9f846dfb09ec9c81d9caac486 President Barack Obama talks with small business owners, from left, Brian Bovio, Dave Thornton, and Catherine Horsburgh at the Tastee Sub Shop in Edison, N.J.
