As I mentioned in an email a few weeks ago, Senator Reid is hosting a breakfast for his friend Steven Horsford on May 17 here in Washington (7:45 am, Charlie Palmer).

Steven's running for the newly created 4th Congressional District in Nevada, and would be the first African-American elected to Congress from Nevada. He was recently added to the DCCC's Majority Makers program. The new seat is relatively safe - in 2008, President Obama captured 57.5% of the vote in what is now this district.
