I understand you caught up with Nitin earlier. Following our earlier
discussion, see attached for the Medical Board of California's response for

reviewing his application is Margene Goodrich.

Do let me know if you might know any colleagues who could speed up the
process. I'm checking with Peter as to next steps. He may be able to
resolve this directly, but thought I'd give you a heads up on this.

Ramji and Eric,

Just got a response in the mail today. It's attached.

Issue 1 is trivial.
Issue 2 should also be straightforward. I've requested another form from my
residency program. (excerpt below)

I reviewed the form, and it says "The GENERAL MEDICINE requirement may be
satisfied by actual clinical practice where the applicant has direct
patient care responsibilities in any particular specialty or sub-specialty
area for at least four months." I think our blood bank rotation
(Transfusion Medicine is a subspecialty) should qualify for this (Dr. Eby
basically stated this in the explanation, but maybe he should have just
checked the box as well). Can you ask Dr. Huettner to care of this? I've
attached the form again, I need pages 18-19. Thank you.

Issue 5:
I listed 3 weeks of preventive medicine, 1 week of family practice, 1 week
of community medicine, but perhaps the person reviewing did not notice the
3 weeks of preventive medicine. I left a message with her this morning so
that I could explain this.


If all else fails, we may be able to petition for something like a license
limited to pathology (laboratory directorship).
