Dear MSFS faculty, Unless you opted out of the online electronic survey for the spring (and instead requested paper evals), you likely received the email below from the Registrar's office to your Georgetown University email account. I am resending it for two reasons, 1) in case the email did not reach you, and 2) to ask for your help in raising the response rate. While the online surveys have the potential to be more efficient in evaluating courses than the paper forms, one of the difficulties experienced last semester was low student participation. In talking with students, part of the problem they shared related to the timing of the evaluations. We have shared this concern with those above, but in the meantime, we suggest the following: 1) encourage your students to participate, let them know the value of the evaluations to you, your course, and to MSFS. 2) consider offering in-class time during your final class meeting for students to fill out the evals via laptops. Here is the email from the registrar (my apologies to those receiving this more than once): We are sending this email to advise you that we intend to inform students in your class that the electronic evaluation survey will be available beginning 8am on Tuesday, April 24th through Thursday, May 3rd at 11pm. It would be helpful to all if you could also mention to the students in class or by email the evaluations will be given online, and encourage them to fill it out as soon as possible. Students with incomplete surveys will be sent reminders periodically to complete the survey before the deactivation time. Those instructors who selected to use synchronous administration are reminded to inform their students of the date selected for administering the survey and they must complete the survey during that period because they will not have access once the period is over. No reminders will be sent to the students in courses opting for synchronous administration. Students and instructors can go to: https://eval.georgetown.edu In the "Main Campus" box, click on "CoursEval" Log in with their NetID and password Instructors can preview the survey and add up to five optional questions by clicking on "My Course Questions" under "Survey". Instructors can also monitor the progress of their response rate on the main landing page. If you have any questions, please email me at jmd268@georgetown.edu We appreciate your help with this important part of our academic process. Joseph M.
