Veterans are in trouble, here in New York City and across the nation. We would like to personally invite you to join us at a groundbreaking conference on Monday, May 7, where we will begin to develop a comprehensive plan to help our troops transition back to productive civilian lives. Our special guests and panel moderators-including Gen. Stanley McChrystal, USA (ret.); Gen. Peter Chiarelli, USA (ret.); Tom Brokaw; Katie Couric; Brian Williams; Willie Geist and others-will ensure that it is an enlightening and memorable day. This invitation-only conference will feature leaders from local, state and national government, as well as the military, private sector and nonprofit arenas. Robin Hood-the leading poverty-fighting group in New York City-will host this full-day conference aboard the Intrepid Museum in Manhattan. We will address the fact that 18 veterans commit suicide every day, and our youngest veterans have an unemployment rate that soars above 29%. We are committed to finding the solutions that will provide meaningful jobs and the highest quality health care for our returning servicemen and women. They deserve no less. We will focus on sharing best practices and programs that have demonstrated real results or inspiring potential for helping our returning military heroes and their families. We will be featuring programs and models that can be replicated nationally and hope that, by bringing together individuals who are spearheading innovative and effective solutions, we can inspire others to achieve similar successes in their own communities. By way of background, Robin Hood has been working to alleviate poverty in New York City since 1988, and their work has had a meaningful and measurable impact on hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers struggling to build better lives. We were honored to be asked to co-chair their Veterans Advisory Board because we knew Robin Hood would demonstrate leadership and incubate the most effective strategies for helping our men and women in uniform-and they have done just that. This invitation to join us as our guest is meant for you personally as a leader in this space and is non-transferable. Space is very limited, so please register as soon as possible at the following link: https://www.regonline.com/rhvets<http://email.robinhood.org/hood/dwzr0d0X76381mX4h4fX6q0pvxX9nggX1t6xk/1/51878>.
