Dear 12th Grade Parents,

Work begins next week on the Senior Celebration video tribute, "Let Your
Life Speak: Twelve Words."

We will make a presentation to the senior class on Monday, April 16, at
2:30 p.m., following up on previous emails in which we described what they
need to do. We'll be showing them this "mock-up" for inspiration (these are
not students):

To make this easy, we will schedule students to be videotaped reciting
their 12 words during their free periods at school. We have booked four
days for taping: *April 17, April 18, April 23, and April 25*, from 8 a.m.
- 5 p.m. Students will be scheduled in 10-minute intervals. Students will
sign up on line. Details will be communicated to the students.

*Where we need parents to get involved*: The video will combine these
on-camera 12-word "moments" with photographs of the student that we have
previously asked you to submit by *April **30*.
To refresh your memory about the video's goals, it will feature each member
of the class sharing 12 words (in honor of being the class of 2012) that
they have composed to express "This is Me on my Way" -- a haiku-like (even
Twitter inspired!) capturing of this time in their lives. Each student's
sequence will be about 20 seconds (including their words and photos). Ask
your student to tell you their 12 words and try to pick out some photos
together that complement the 12 words. Or just send your favorites!

We ask that each family submit:
-Up to 12 photos as possibilities for your child's sequence.*
-We'd love to have lots to choose from and we will not use all 12 photos,
so if you do not have 12 photos to send, please don't be concerned; just
send in as many as you can.
Please send:
up to 4 from the baby/toddler years,
up to 4 from 8 - 10 years old,
up to 4 from junior and/or senior year.
*Each photo should feature the student *only* (not with friends or family).
If your child joined your family as an older child, send whatever photos
you would like. If you need assistance scanning older photos, please
contact Jill at jill@jilldrew.com or 202-525-8884.
Please submit all photos *no later than April 30. * It will be very helpful
to us to receive them sooner.
To submit your digital images: go to *
https://dropbox.yousendit.com/sidwell2012*. You should see a template that
says "Send Files Easily and Securely to Jill Drew." Type in your name and
email address. In subject line, type the student's name exactly as you'd
like it to appear in the video (we will have a title page with each
student's name). In the message box, tell us how many images you are
sending in total. Then click the button on the form to choose which files
to upload. Finally, click the "send it" button at the bottom of the form.
Each file must be less than 2 gigabytes. Please be sure each image includes
the student's name in the file name -- we don't want to mix up pictures.
