Democrats have resumed their "sit-in" on the House floor, after Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) tried Wednesday night to break up their day-long protest over gun control.

After a temporary interruption for a 10 p.m. vote - when Democrats booed and shouted "shame!" at Ryan - a group of Democrats said they planned to occupy the floor all night. Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters that Democrats would likely continue their crusade on Thursday as well, assuming Ryan continues to refuse to hold a vote on a proposal to bar people on the "no fly" list from purchasing guns.

GOP leaders expect to hold another series of votes late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, but it appears unlikely they will be able to halt the protest.
