Dear Robert, Talk to any politically active person in DC or one of the prognosticators or pundits on TV - to a person, they'd say Nevada is one of, if not THE, most important states to our party this Fall. From the White House to the Senate, and from the House down to who runs Carson City - much is at stake in November. Senator Reid has spent a lot of time building a great party apparatus in Nevada, and this year, we have the opportunity for three critical pick ups: Shelley Berkley in the Senate and Steven Horsford and John Oceguera in the House. Over the next three months, Senator Reid will be hosting breakfasts in Washington for each of these fine candidates. What: Breakfast benefiting Steven Horsford for Congress (NV-4) When: Thursday, May 17, 2012 Where: Charlie Palmer Steak (101 Constitution Ave NW) Why: Steven Horsford (Majority Leader in the Nevada State Senate) is running in the newly created 4th Congressional District. The new seat is definitely winnable, and Steven is a great candidate for the seat - he has a long history in the district. Suggested Contributions: $5,000 ~ Host, $2,500 ~ Sponsor $1,000 ~ PAC, $500 ~ Personal What: Breakfast benefiting John Oceguera for Congress (NV-3) When: Thursday, June 7, 2012 Where: Charlie Palmer Steak (101 Constitution Ave NW) Why: John is a fire fighter and the former Speaker of the Nevada Assembly. His race has been targeted by the DCCC as a Red to Blue flip opportunity. The current Congressman, Joe Heck, is doing his best to run to the center, but he's been a reliable vote for John Boehner and Eric Cantor. The 3rd Congressional District is the very definition of a swing district - with President Obama competing so heavily in Nevada, John has an incredible opportunity to win. Suggested Contributions: $5,000 ~ Host, $2,500 ~ Sponsor $1,000 ~ PAC, $500 ~ Personal What: Breakfast benefiting Shelley Berkley for Senate When: Thursday, June 21, 2012 Where: The Source (575 Pennsylvania Ave NW) Why: Because the Democratic Majority in the Senate depends on winning Nevada - as it did in 2010. Suggested Contributions: $5,000 ~ Host, $2,500 ~ Sponsor $1,000 ~ PAC, $500 ~ Personal I hope Senator Reid and I will see you at one, two or all of these events. RSVP to me, josh@searchlightpac.com or 202-544-5632. Thanks for all you do. Josh Josh Alcorn Searchlight Leadership Fund Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid 426 C Street, NE Rear Bldg.
