Dear Founding Trustees, I am delighted to share great news with you. Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys is officially a school, chartered by Baltimore City Public Schools. The school board approved our application last evening. Out of four applicants, only two were approved. Ours won high praise and a very strong recommendation from Dr. Alonso. I'm grateful -----beyond grateful---for your wise counsel and consistent support. I feel like we have reached the base camp of Mt. Everest and now begin a steady and slow ascent to the mountain top! As the trusted guardians and stewards of this vision, our real work begins in earnest to build the finest school possible for the families in Baltimore City who deserve a world class education. Our mission: *Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys is established to seek out, find and advance forward the next generation of young men who, through the finest liberals arts education possible, will become responsible citizens who will lead and serve in our community, the nation and the world.* Our work together takes on new meaning as we build a pipeline of students and their families, teachers and supporters through through four related initiatives: Collegiate Academy (our Saturday program in partnership with the University of Baltimore), Collegiate Summer Bridge Academy (starting July 9), Collegiate Boys' Athletic League and the Collegiate Fellows program (a service learning project for high potential college graduates). Five Smooth Stones. Five great initiatives. Transformative and generational change for our community. Please spread the news through our networks. We are on a mission to change the world. It takes a whole village to educate our sons, I -- ____________________________________________________ Jack J.
