*Dear Parents,*

*Thank you for participating in the survey "Physical Education and
Athletics at Sidwell Friends School" this past November. The community*
*participation level was excellent, with more than 600 parents completing
the survey. The data have been tabulated and have been distributed to the
Athletics Task Force, and to the Administration.*

*It is worth noting that overall the community expressed a keen interest in
Athletics and PE. Almost 90% of respondents said they either wanted to see
an increased emphasis or were happy with the current level of emphasis on
sports at Sidwell. Further, more than three quarters said that sports were
important to their child.*

*While the community expressed a general level of satisfaction across a
number of measures, there were areas where parents expressed an interest in
seeing the school focus energy and attention on improving elements of its
Athletics and PE programs. This feedback will be very helpful to those
tasked with evaluating and executing these programs at the school.*

*The Task Force is hard at work in completing its comprehensive look at
Athletics and Physical Education at Sidwell and is planning to complete a
report for the board by the end of June. The survey results will be a very
helpful tool to the task force, along with a number of other data points,
as they complete their work.*

*The PA Athletics Committee will be holding an open meeting next Tuesday
morning, February 11 at 7:45 AM in the Rusch Team meeting room in the
Athletics Center to review survey results and answer questions. Thank you
again for your participation. Your enthusiasm and commitment are highly
valued.*
