Hi Hunter,

I hope all is well with you. I had the honor of attending a State Dinner at the White House on August 2nd and of course saw your wonderful father. When I saw the Vice President I mentioned to him that I was on the Board of a company called SafeTComm which has developed a mobile safety app called PRZ – Personal Red Zone -- to help prevent sexual assaults on college campuses (see attached). The CEO, Lisa Jones, has participated in several events around this topic through the White House Office of Public Engagement. The VP and I spoke about the “Only Yes Means Yes” campaign and I told him about the premiere of the PSA video (see attached) that was produced by PRZ in conjunction with a group of Howard students. The PSA called, “Only Yes Means Yes”, will premiere on Howard's campus this fall in connection with the nationwide launch of the PRZ App. The Vice President said that depending upon his schedule, he would be interested in attending the event. Ideally we would love for him to say a few words but he would not have to stay for the entire event, depending upon his schedule.

These are the dates they would like to have the Vice President attend the “Only Yes Means Yes” campaign kick-off at Howard University:

• Oct. 3, 4, 5 or 6,
• Oct. 10, 11, 12 or 13
• Oct. 26 or 27

But they are also very flexible on the dates and time and will work around his schedule for a 30 minute slot. Can you please forward this request to the VP and his team? I would very much appreciate it. Thanks so much!

"When we sit at home on Election Day, we give away our power. We give away our voice. We give away our ability to help shape the future of our communities and this country we love. There is no possible excuse for it. It may be easy to look at Washington these days and feel frustrated with the pace of change, and to lose hope in the political process as a result. But we can’t give in to that cynicism. Because our government — our democracy — is us. It’s only as good as the people we elect. It only reflects our will when we exercise it."
