I am now an editor at Esquire which is being completed re-done under a new
Editor, my old, close friend and former boss, Jay Fielden. Jay¹s brilliant.

I thought one way to get into the process of the book, if you¹re still keen
on that, might be to do something for the magazine, which could be a piece
by you or could be a conversation between the two of us, about service and
loss and life and family. Though you may have other ideas.

If you like the idea I will propose it but no pressure, seriously, and love
and I believe in you.

But what I really think he would love is if we did something together- he
respected and loved you so much and I think it would be cool if we did it
