Hi Beau,

I hope you and your family are well.

I want to offer you an opportunity and, if it doesn’t work for you, that’s perfectly fine. This is really for you.

The B+ Foundation partners with UD students to hold “UDance” every year. UDance is the largest student-run philanthropy at the University and last year, the 12 hour dance marathon raised $850,000 to help us fight childhood cancers. We also pair B+ Heroes (kids with cancer) with fraternities, sororities, UD sports teams, and student groups on campus. We’re now up to 40 ‘adoptions’ and it’s been a great experience for the kids and the students. One of the highlights of the day is the “B+ Hero Hour” when I call the kids up on stage and recognize them. We hold UDance in the Bob Carpenter Center, it runs from 9am-9pm on Sun March 22nd, and it draws between 3,000-4,000 students. The B+ Hero Hour is 5pm-6pm.

In the past, I have invited various elected officials to join me on stage to say a few words and join me in recognizing the kids.

If you’re interested, I was thinking that this could be a good, controlled environment where you could join me on stage (you don’t have to even give remarks, you could help hand the kids the gift we give them), gain some visibility in front of a lot of future campaign volunteers, and not likely even deal with any media. Historically, there hasn’t been much coverage.

And, like I said above, if this doesn’t work for you, that’s perfectly fine as well. I just wanted to extend the invitation if it works for you.
