Congress must remind the Trump Administration that securing the government’s networks is a priority for our nation. 09/12/17, Just Security, http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210ce5695715ea5a85a50243fd9fd28bde4f020b4b3fc7a27982063b47694dfa4f5ae5dd8c2fab81f958 A Dream Deferred: Rescinding DACA Makes Us Less Secure , by Bishop Garrison, Truman Defense Council While rescinding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals fits comfortably into the thematic vision of “America First” that resonates so well with President Trump’s voter base, the far-reaching ramifications of this anti-immigration decision are devastating and deeply undermine American values. 09/13/17, Inside Sources, http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c2bfda9c7372103bad70476c6dc14851979b07d3297933db23432cc20892568faa84599a3d6e4d078 Lost on Zig Zag Alley , by Seth Stodder, Truman Security Fellow Dreamers are contributing members of society, serving in the military, going to college, gainfully employed, starting businesses, having families--and many now have U.S. citizen children. We should call the “Dreamers” by their real name: Americans. 09/20/17, Truman Doctrine Blog, http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c5ccc9c4aba1c21ae5c73a16c67563067e25631c5d072d676a04a15669fc281bc0523463f34984fa0 The Way Ahead in U.S.-Turkey Relations , by Amanda Sloat, Truman Security Fellow Turkey is an important bridge between Europe and the Middle East, and a failed U.S.-Turkey relationship would impede the fight against ISIS, hinder efforts to stem refugee flows into Europe, and weaken one of the region’s most successful economies. 09/21/17, The Hill, http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c0e7a5cbde161e7c64e13e30b914c147205e4775ab16d1f1d77a72dd9abb8f2f2b6ea4443cdaad0db America is a global leader--here’s how Congress can maintain that status , by Alex Toma, Truman Security Fellow Congress must defend the International Affairs Budget from a devastating 32 percent cut under the Trump Administration’s proposal. Doing so will maintain American influence abroad and increase peace and prosperity globally, as well as in our own backyard. 09/21/17, Fairfax County Times, http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c40269bc8c0ed1af3c3520f8056d0ec505533edcdb48f9dc38aa30999c604e15ef73b9d8e326f1b62 DACA repeal is an act motivated by racial resentment and bigotry , by Monique Alcala, Truman Political Partner While the Trump Administration cites economics, adherence to the rule of law, and national security concerns as the basis for the DACA program’s repeal, their actions and rhetoric have instead demonstrated more nefarious, racist, and xenophobic motivations. 09/25/17, Truman Doctrine Blog, http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210ccd18dec4d1fd3e4af5844b3bdd83b5ebf0d1cd072c01da5ee06fc2d073a53dc33518cc2a186776bb Can We Talk? It’s Time for New Conversations on Gender Equality in Foreign Policy Circles , by Jolynn Shoemaker, Truman Security Fellow Although it may feel that we cannot make any movement on gender equality within the current political climate, we are at a strategic juncture for reflection, conversation, and institutional change: Women have begun to speak out more forcibly, even within the confines of an extremely traditional and elite foreign policy establishment. http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c27d6d20fb08aa9839fc22cf5f65c13f46a1730d9a90cb450cf14a7a520f55863ffc063c3137857a9 http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c27d6d20fb08aa9839fc22cf5f65c13f46a1730d9a90cb450cf14a7a520f55863ffc063c3137857a9 Facebook http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c210ec4ddbc3d989d9dbb0aa1d4b000d67a8fdd2f733b2ef54f77cd6eeb110ae9cd427de1d396a032 http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210c210ec4ddbc3d989d9dbb0aa1d4b000d67a8fdd2f733b2ef54f77cd6eeb110ae9cd427de1d396a032 Twitter http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210cdaf1ba17cd7f5b28dbdda7eaf912a92e255180e2a1b7f9e9783e69ddff35190386ece65ab30c9218 http://cl.s6.exct.net/?qs=b94d4a3d65d2210cdaf1ba17cd7f5b28dbdda7eaf912a92e255180e2a1b7f9e9783e69ddff35190386ece65ab30c9218 YouTube ---------------------------------------- This email was sent by: Truman National Security Project 1250 I Street, NW, Suite 500 Washington, DC, 20005, US We respect your right to privacy - visit the following URL to view our policy.
